Order Room Service with Amazon Alexa This Summer

Amazon is rolling out the brand-new “Alexa for Hospitality” to Marriott International hotels and boutique lifestyle properties

Amazon’s Alexa has gone from turning on lights to guiding your style choices, to now calling your concierge and ordering room service to your hotel room.

The new service for hotels and lifestyle properties, Alexa for Hospitality, turns Alexa into a voice assistant designed for guests to use in their room. The in-room smart speaker will be integrated with the hotel’s information and services to answer questions about pool and gym hours, order extra towels or housekeeping services, control in-room lighting, and even get concierge recommendations and facilitate checking out.

Alexa for Hospitality is coming this summer to select properties by Marriott International, including Marriott Hotels, Westin, St. Regis, Autograph Collection, and other brands in their portfolio. Amazon is also partnering with vacation rental company RedAwning, as well as Two Roads Hospitality, to bring in-room services to Thompson Hotels, Destination Hotels, and more.

While Amazon hasn’t yet confirmed which hotels will debut Alexa for Hospitality first, start keeping an eye out for announcements later this summer, especially at Marriott and Two Roads properties.
