With five historic districts, South Pasadena is a great venue for indulging in that most Southern California of pastimes: real-estate voyeurism. The city is best known for adorable Craftsman bungalows, but the Oaklawn Historic District, lined with enviable mansions, is grander than the rest. Start at the Oaklawn stone portals designed by iconic architects Henry and Charles Greene on Columbia Street, then walk down Oaklawn to the gracefully arched pedestrian bridge.
