Owner Bobak Roshan’s Little Tokyo cafe was so successful that he opened a second one just north of the Third Street Promenade. Demitasse built its reputation on small-batch, house-roasted, hand-poured coffee, but Roshan is also quite proud of the Santa Monica location’s fancy Alpha Dominche Steampunk machine, which brews up to four individual cups at once. Each barista has a signature drink, so unless you’re absolutely set on Kyoto-style iced coffee, an orange-thyme cardamom latte, or loose-leaf tea, let one of them choose for you.
