Until recently, the oral and aural pleasures of Napa were mismatched: food an afterthought at music venues and music second fiddle to restaurant menus. But now all the senses have a place at the table at City Winery Napa, a revamp of the town’s 1880 Italianate opera house. Take a seat upstairs, where, beneath the swooping curve of the old balcony, you can take in a performance of jazz, blues, or rock. Or sit downstairs at the restaurant, with its walls of winestained barrel staves and California bistro menu. Both floors get the outstanding wine list, which leans heavily on local vintages.
