It took four years to renovate a century-old movie theater in the Mission, but now the red marquee of the Alamo Drafthouse at the New Mission is flickering once again. The five-screen multiplex isn’t just showing indie films, blockbusters, and revived classics—it’s offering its own spin on dinner and a movie. Using a silent ordering system, moviegoers can order bourbon-glazed ribs with chicharrones, vegan pizza paired with Copain wine, or cocktails such as the boulevardiers on draft or a boozy San Francisco Grasshopper milkshake, made with Fernet Branca, crème de menthe, and ice cream, topped with Dandelion Chocolate dust.
