If you haven’t already heard, Sunset’s 2016 Bay Area California Idea House is nestled near our new headquarters in the East Bay. The top to bottom modern build, an unprecedented collab with some of the region’s most sought after design talent, is just weeks away from opening its doors to the public.

The contemporary shell designed by Robert Nebolon Architects consists of 4,000-square foot spread out over five floors. The sprawling space includes four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a game room, wine cellar, artist studio and some five decks that provide sweeping vistas of the San Francisco Bay.

Once inside, Geremia Design will treat visitors to warm and innovative interiors. The team, lead by Lauren Geremia, connects the space with the community through thoughtful craftsman details, artisan furniture and handmade accessories paired with a rich color palette that reflects our love of wine and farm-to-table meals.

The Sunset Idea House, located at 540 Gravatt Road in Oakland, will be open for tours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Aug. 19 through Sept. 25. Tickets are $26 and can be purchased via eventbrite or onsite during tour hours. A shuttle bus transport visitors from two adjacent parking areas.

If you can’t wait to see inside, follow Sunset on Instagram for updates as we inch closer to the opening.
