Our Designer Network is a group of trailblazers and icons that Sunset and sister publications Coastal Living and Southern Living work with to curate the best home designs for the magazines.
This week, we feature Dana Wolter of Dana Wolter Interiors in Birmingham, AL.
DW: My style is classic with an edge. I like for a room to stand the test of time, but have uniqueness and details that catch your eye. Everyday elegance—rooms that are functional for everyday use, yet can easily transition for a party.
DW: I love that navy is becoming the new black. It’s a neutral that goes with so much.
DW: To create a healthy home that has purpose and is organized. You should surround yourself with pieces you love and that work for you and your family. Every object should have a place, even if it doesn’t always stay in it.
DW: Beach house essentials—great towels, linens, selection of good paperback books
DW: Benjamin Moore Blue Notte 2129-30
DW: Palm Springs- it’s casual, pretty and has lots to offer for all ages.
DW: Birmingham is home to some of the prettiest local stores in the South. I love Circa Interiors for unique finds, Paige Albright Orientals for great rugs, Village Framers for framing and Gallery 1930 for art.
DW: Kelly Wearstler (@kellywearstler), Ruard Veltman Architecture (@ruardveltmanarchitecture), and Ashley Stark Kenner (@ashleytstark).
DW: The Ritz Carlton at Palm Beach.
DW: Island, always!
