It’s official: Sunset’s 2016 Idea House is for sale. Located in the hills straddling the Oakland and Berkeley border, the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home with sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay can be yours for $2,795,000.

The Idea House will be featured in the November issue of Sunset.

Sunset has partnered with The Grubb Co. Realtors to sell the sleek, ultramodern, 3,602-square-foot home. The Idea House reflects the Craftsman home architecture style embodied by many homes in the Bay Area.

“We are thrilled that Sunset recognized our 50 years of deep roots in the East Bay marketplace and chose us as their local luxury specialists,” said DJ Grubb, CEO of The Grubb Co. The agency has represented homes in the Bay Area since 1967.

Sunset assembled an award-winning team to appoint the Idea House inside and out: Geremia Design, Robert Nebolon Architects, landscape designer Michelle Derviss, and builder Landmark Development Corporation. The Idea House features a game room, wine cellar, and a total of five decks overlooking the bay. The four-story home comprises details and artisan materials that imbue warmth to its contemporary architecture.

“We cannot wait to see this house become a home to a lucky Bay Area family, truly bringing the inspiration behind the Idea House and the pages of Sunset to life,” said Irene Edwards, Sunset’s editor-in-chief.
