We’re making progress on the 2015 Sunset Idea House in Denver–I’m heading there next week to check it out. Each time we go, it seems another furniture maker pops up (does everyone in this city know how to use a block plane?). One to note: Scott Bennett of Housefish. His line of modular pieces made from sustainably-harvested USA wood is headlined by the Lock Chair, a seat with no-brainer assembly—just click the “locking notch” into place and screw it together to secure.

A few others I’ve spotted and like:

Double Butter: Modern furniture with a pleasing mix of metal and wood. You’ll see them in the house!

Sjotime Industries: Combining high-tech help to create hand-crafted pieces. Gorgeous.

Azure: Understated case goods where the raw wood grain shines.

Studio Como: A wide range of mid-century inspired pieces, including upholstery.
