Looking for the perfect Super Bowl party dish that’s sure to keep your guests cheering for more? We’ve combined chili and nachos, two hallmark Super Bowl dishes, into one surefire crowd pleaser. Because why settle for one when you can have both at the same time?

No matter which team your guests are rooting for, there’s one thing they can agree on: The chili in this recipe is a winner. We used our favorite all-time chili recipe from the Sunset Test Kitchen, one that combines smoky spices with beef and bacon. Need we say more? We advise preparing the chili a day ahead so that not only will you free up your time to enjoy the action on game day, but also allow more time for the flavors to combine and deepen. After all, it’s a well-known fact that chili tastes better on day two!

Once you have your pot of chili warmed up (or freshly made, whatever your preference), it’s time to bring this ultimate nachos recipe to life. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper, and then scatter your favorite tortilla chips on top. Liberally sprinkle grated sharp cheddar cheese on top and bake until cheese is somewhat melted. Remove from the oven and transfer to an oven-safe platter (only if you’d like-the purpose of this step is to get the nachos on a presentable party platter instead of a baking sheet). Now top the cheesy chips with the chili. Top with more grated cheddar cheese and bake at a low heat to melt the cheese on top.

Once you remove the platter, use a squirt bottle to top the nachos with a sour cream and lime juice mixture. Sprinkle on smoked paprika (for one last smoky touch) and chopped green onions. You can also apply your favorite hot sauce, or leave that up to guests so they can calibrate the spiciness to their liking. No matter how spicy or mild, this nachos recipe is the true winner of game day. Enjoy!
