Ice cream with sex appeal in L.A.

Don't even talk to us about ice cream unless it's local, organic, seasonal, sustainable, farmer's market-sourced, and made by artisans who devote their blood, sweat, and tears to the craft. But while that may be the new baseline here, I'm looking for something extra in my ice cream purveyor...personality, atmosphere, maybe even a little dash of Old Hollywood glamour.

A Beachy Cream girl

Don’t even talk to us about ice cream unless it’s local, organic, seasonal, sustainable, farmer’s market-sourced, and made by artisans who devote their blood, sweat, and tears to the craft. But while that may be the new baseline here, I’m looking for something extra in my ice cream purveyor…personality, atmosphere, maybe even a little dash of Old Hollywood glamour.

In L.A., even mundane acts like ordering an ice cream on a sweltering afternoon should be infused with something transporting and cinematic. Behold the beauty of Beachy Cream. When I order my organic candied ginger ice cream sandwich, it’s served by pin-up girls in retro starlet swimsuits. Retro swimsuits! So now I can skip off to the Santa Monica pier, my ice cream treat cast in a retro-fabulous glow, cast as the star of my own imaginary movie. Without or without the bathing suit.
