Ferries carrying four to nine cars each cross the Willamette at Canby, north of Keizer (Wheatland Ferry), and at Independence (Buena Vista Ferry)―the five-minute crossing is free to pedestrians and cyclists (http://publicworks.co.marion.or.us or 503/588-7979). Otherwise rent a boat, go with a guide, or hop on a tour boat.
