Drinking a glass of fresh apple juice from one of the orchards around the Kern County town of Tehachapi is a dangerous proposition. One taste will probably make you swear off the commercial stuff forever.

Tehachapi's fall apple harvest lasts only from mid-September through November, so you need to head up there soon. ―Michael Tennesen
