Those of the Nordic persuasion can telemark to their heart's content at the TopAten Nordic and Snowshoe Area, at the top of Sunshine Express at Telluride Ski Resort. If the snow at the base is sparse, the facility offers trails with views through the forest and along mountain ridges.
