The whole faux-Alpine village motif isn't very original, but you can’t beat the Village Lodge for ease. It’s steps from the Mammoth Mountain gondola, and everything—coffee, rentals, groceries—is right here. The Village Lodge condos have kitchens and hotel-type perks like robes, a pool, and a concierge. Schuss right up to the lift line, spend the day on the slopes, and then ski home on the Village Ski Back Trail.
