None receives more kudos than the creamy, briny version stocked with clams that Carol Anello ladles at Spud Point Crab Company, a seafood shack at the harbor’s edge. Her specialty, which simmers in iron pots on an outdoor stove, is the nine-time winner of an annual townwide chowder contest.
