Put up a bowling alley in a trendy urban hood, and it’s 1994. Add a craft-cocktail program, organic comfort food, and marbles tournaments, and it’s some retro-futuristic mash-up of 1952 and last night. Punch Bowl Social, in the South Broadway neighborhood, packs Vegas-style over-stimulation into a former Big Lots department store. The hipster diner serves buffalo meatloaf and sandwiches with a housemade pâté of pork, herbs, and nuts. The outdoor patio has a firepit, and there are ping-pong and pool tables, eight bowling lanes, and two felt-covered tables for marble thwhacking.
