This funky walk-up place is easily the best barbecue in San Luis Obispo. Opened in June 2012 with a dining room next door, it’s the dream project of Matt Pearce, a former full-time engineer who now does what he loves best: cooking century-old family recipes for an appreciative crowd. Among the good ideas on the tiny menu: tri-tip sliders, fresh-squeezed strawberry lemonade, and a decadent cross between a soufflé and a pudding called cowboy corn pie.
