When the Hotel Jerome opened, it boasted cutting-edge amenities, like electricity and running water. (Well, that was cutting edge in the Rockies in 1889!) A recent renovation has seen the property take another quantum leap in luxury. If you've stayed there before, you won't recognize the revamped fine dining restaurant or Auberge spa. Hunter S. Thompson doesn't hang out at the bar anymore (for reasons having nothing to do with the remodel), but a lot of the movers and shakers who come through Aspen still do.
