Welcome to the Sunset Southern California Idea House

Our first Southern California Idea House was designed to celebrate the best of California living, and the setting could not have been more perfect. The Estates at Westridge neighborhood by Newhall Land, is a beautiful
location for this home. The backyard and observation deck overlook an oak preserve, while the front balcony offers city views. Our design goal was to take full advantage of these views and the many outdoor opportunities that come with living in Southern California. I want to thank our incredible team of designers and our builder for their hard work and dedication to this project. Our team included architect Dave George of DG&A, interior designers Janet Carpenter and Kathy Weber of Artistic Environments, landscape architect Nick Williams, and Kevin Farr and Andy Hetzell of Newhall Land. Our builder, Mike Blaha of HyMax Building Corp., is a longtime Valencia resident and is involved in many community and civic activities. Using the latest products from our sponsors (see list of sponsors to the left) and our contributors, our team worked hard to create an innovative and comfortable home perfect for a family with children.
