Tray
1. Paint tray and allow to dry thoroughly. Meanwhile, enlarge selected image. An 11- by 17-inch photo will fit a standard rectangular tray; for circular and oval trays, experiment with different sizes until you get the best fit.
A tray for Mother's Day
Use a favorite family photo to make this charming gift

Pamper Mom this Mother's Day with breakfast served on a tray that she can enjoy long after the coffee and croissants are gone.

All it takes is a quick trip to the copy shop to enlarge a favorite photo, a tray to put it on, and a clear plastic overlay – in this case, a place mat – for protection. We painted our tray to match the photograph.

Time: About 1 hour, plus drying time

Cost: Depends on tray and mat

3. Measure the interior of the tray; the clear place mat should fit snugly inside. Cut the mat and position firmly in place.
