Pumpkins

Pumpkin bouquet
Download our templates for this cheerful grouping of pumpkin flowers

Welcome trick-or-treaters with a cheerful grouping of harvest- season pumpkin flowers. These daisies, roses, sunflowers, and chrysanthemums are just as easy to carve as a ghoulish face. The tricky part: Instead of cutting all the way through to the core, peel away the tough outer layer and allow the pith underneath to remain. The contrasting shades of orange will stand out during the day and glow golden at night. —Jil Peters

Directions

1. Download our templates by clicking on the links below. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view and print files (PDFs). Print them out on your home printer.

2. Depending on the size of your pumpkin, reduce or enlarge the image as needed on a copy machine.

3. Tape the paper template to the front of your pumpkin.

4. Using a thumbtack or small pin, punch a series of dots through the paper and into the pumpkin rind to transfer the pattern’s outline.

5. Remove the template and use a carving knife and scraper or small spoon to peel off the rind inside the dotted lines.
