Thyme, Common thyme (Thymus vulgarus)
Quick facts and care essentials

• Perennial
• Zones 1-24, 26, 28-43
• Full sun to light shade
• Regular water

This hardy perennial forms a 6- to 12-inch mound of tiny, sweetly pungent leaves. It's a good container plant and an attractive edging for flower, vegetable, or herb gardens. Set plants 1 foot apart. Cut back after flowering to keep plants dense.
