IKEA's PS line

Every three years, IKEA releases new products for its PS line, which focuses on ultra-modern design that’s still practical and affordable. The ninth collection, PS 2017, launches this February and features over 50 products created by 17 designers from around the world. PS 2017’s theme is “designed by free thinkers for free thinkers” and was created for people who reside in small spaces or live nomadic lifestyles (due to work travel or other personal interests). But, even if those two things don’t apply to you, you might still find some pieces in the line useful—there are plenty of storage and lighting solutions, too. Take a look at some of our favorites below, and check them out in stores or online starting February.

IKEA Floor Lamp

To Buy: $85; ikea.com

This isn’t your average tall floor lamp—this one sits low to the ground and blends in rather than distracts. The design was inspired by old military searchlights, so it has more of a spotlight feel to illuminate the room.

IKEA Storage Unit

To Buy: $99; ikea.com

This utility piece can be used to store everything, including sports equipment, shoes, hardware, gardening tools, and more. Place it in your garage or laundry room for extra storage. “Without tools, screws, or fittings, you can transform the flat package into a functional storage unit in just minutes,” the designer of the piece Nike Karlsson said in a press release.
