3. To help keep the Pre-Waxed Medium Bleached Wick with Wick Clip (by Yaley; $2.99 for six; from joann.com) in place ― it falls limp when the wax is poured ― we used wooden skewers and painter’s tape.

Once secured, we poured wax into each vessel to about 1/8 in. below the rim.
