1. After cleaning the goblets with metal polish and a clean cloth, we followed the directions on the package of Microwaveable Soy Wax for Containers (by Yaley; $6.99 for 1 lb.; from joann.com).

We used two 1-lb. packets for six vessels. Other required materials included newspaper to safeguard our surface, a candy thermometer, and a microwave-safe measuring cup with a spout
