As program manager for San Francisco’s Building REsources and its side project, The Red Shovel Glass Company, Matthew Levesque makes it his mission to divert reusable materials from landfills. And with his background in building, remodeling, and design, he’s got a good many useful reuse ideas to share.

When he’s not onsite managing new donations or inventing creative ways to repurpose everything from lighting and lumber to cabinetry, tiles, and windows, Matthew spreads the eco-word via tours, field trips, and offsite presentations. His first book, The Revolutionary Yardscape: Ideas For Repurposing Local Materials to Create Containers, Pathways, Lighting, and More, was recently published by Timber Press.

Matthew lives in Alameda, CA and Grapeview, WA.
