Landscape Architects and Designers
Deadline: March 19, 2008
This division is open to persons trained or employed as professional landscape architects and designers. Landscape projects submitted must have been completed between January 1, 2003, and January 1, 2007. There is a $25 fee per entry. Home Gardeners
Deadline: April 16, 2008
Enter your home garden for a chance to win the $1,000 Grand Prize. This division is open only to home gardeners who have not been trained or employed in landscape design. There is no entry fee. Entry must be postmarked by April 16, 2008. Prizes: The Grand Prize Winner, Second Place Winner, and Third Place Winner will be selected from among all eligible entrants at the Home Gardener level. The Home Gardener Grand Prize Winner will receive $1,000 cash prize and $1,500 in plants from Monrovia Nursery Company ("Monrovia"); the Home Gardener Second Place Winner will receive $500 cash prize and $750 in plants from Monrovia; and the Home Gardener Third Place Winner will receive $250 cash prize and $250 in plants from Monrovia. OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

No Purchase Necessary. You may enter in one of two divisions: Home Gardener or Professional. All contestants must reside in, and their projects must be located in, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, or British Columbia, Canada. Nonprofessional home gardeners and professional landscape architects and designers will be judged separately.

• Professional Division
This division is open to persons trained or employed as professional landscape architects and designers. Only residential projects completed between January 1, 2003, and January 1, 2007, will be considered.

To enter in the Professional Division, click here or call 650/324-5632 for an entry form. The fee to enter is $25 per garden. Entry forms must be postmarked by March 19, 2008. Upon receipt of your entry form, an 8½- by 11-inch binder will be mailed to you for design statement, photographic prints, color photocopies, drawings, and plans. All components must be inserted into the binder. It is not necessary for all sleeves to be filled. Binders will be returned if entrant includes a return mailing label. All applicable correspondence (entry fee, entry form, completed binder) should be mailed to Sunset Dream Garden Awards, 80 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025. One entry per binder. Entries must be postmarked by April 1, 2008, and received by April 8, 2008.

Professional Division — Categories and Judging
The categories are Regional Style, Incredible Makeover, Outdoor Living, and Small Space. Entries must be submitted by the professional landscape architect or designer and must be the design of that individual. Entries will be judged based on: category appropriateness, function, utility, originality, quality of design, and skillful execution. Judges' decisions are final. Winning designs may be featured in a future issue of Sunset. No prizes will be awarded in the Professional Division. Entries cannot have been published previously, except in the case where the project appeared once in a local newspaper or city magazine. Homeowner must consent to entry. Entrant must provide a release from the homeowner permitting access to the property for photography (including necessary props) by Sunset.

• Home Gardener Division
This division is open to home gardeners who have not been trained or employed in landscape design. Garden must be designed by the home gardener without the assistance of a gardening professional but not necessarily installed by said party. One entry per residence.

Submission must be your home garden and should include the entry form, a one- to two-page description of garden, two to four pages of images (minimum 4- by 6-inch photo size), and plant list. All pages should be 8½- by 11-inch paper, single-sided. Submission should be mailed to Sunset Dream Garden Awards, 80 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025. Entry must be postmarked by April 16, 2008, and received by April 23, 2008.

Home Gardener Division — Judging and Prizes
Entries will be judged based on: function, utility, originality, quality of design, and skillful execution. Entry must be submitted by the homeowner and must be the design of that individual. Entry cannot have been published previously, except in the case where the project appeared once in a local newspaper or city magazine. The Grand Prize Winner, Second Place Winner, and Third Place Winner will be selected from among all eligible entrants at the Home Gardener level. The Home Gardener Grand Prize Winner will receive $1,000 cash prize and $1,500 in plants from Monrovia Nursery Company ("Monrovia"); the Home Gardener Second Place Winner will receive $500 cash prize and $750 in plants from Monrovia; and the Home Gardener Third Place Winner will receive $250 cash prize and $250 in plants from Monrovia.

Home Gardener Division — Contest Terms and Conditions
Each Winner will be required to sign a statement of eligibility and a release of liability. Judges' decisions are final. Taxes are the responsibility of the Winners. Sponsors are not responsible for lost, misdirected, or delayed mail or for technical, hardware, software, communications network, website, Internet, or ISP malfunctions, errors, injuries, or failures of any kind arising from, related to, or resulting from participating in this Contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not able to be conducted as planned, because of circumstances or causes, which, in Sponsors' opinion, affect the security, fairness, or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsors reserve the right to modify or cancel the Contest.

Any Winner who cannot be easily located at address shown on entry form will forfeit prize. Depending on the value of the prize, Winner may be required to provide Driver's License or other government-issued identification number for verification and Social Security number for tax purposes. By acceptance of prize, Winner consents to use of his/her name and/or photograph and/or garden photography for publicity purposes without further compensation.

All entries become the property of Sunset Publishing Corporation and are nonreturnable. They may be edited and published in Sunset Publishing products, online services, and those of its corporate affiliates. All entries are by mail-in only. Employees of Monrovia Nursery Company and Sunset Publishing Corporation ("Sponsors"), their affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies, suppliers, and the families of each are not eligible.
