An easy way to get more plants without spending a dime is to to make cuttings. There are all sorts of complicated and involved instructions on how to do this, but we’ll let you in on a little secret–plant propagation with cuttings is easy! Our garden department uses this technique with all of our herbs, fuchsia, coleus, and even a Brussels sprout stock bought at a farmers’ market. You can do it with anything that isn’t too woody like a branch or a well-established shrub. You can also use cuttings to propagate succulents; the technique is just slightly different.
