All you need to know about rabbits if they invade your garden

Rabbits can be especially troublesome to gardeners in rural areas. When their natural food supply dwindles due to seasonal changes, they'll seek food in nearby vegetable gardens.

To protect vegetable beds, you can set up boxlike frames covered on all sides with chicken wire; the wire extends deep enough into the soil to keep rabbits from burrowing beneath it, and the box top opens to allow you access to crops.

If rabbits do manage to burrow under the barrier, consider gardening in solid bottomed raised beds; the wire-covered frames can be anchored to the bed's wooden frame with hinges.
