Parsley
Scott Atkinson
A biennial usually grown as an annual, curly-leaf parsley is an attractive edging for herb, vegetable, or flower gardens; in cooking, it's prized for garnishes. Flat-leaf parsley (also called Italian parsley) has a stronger flavor and is favored for seasoning many dishes. Both sorts grow 6 to 12 inches tall. Set out transplants or sow seeds where plants are to grow in the garden in early spring. To speed germination, soak seed in warm water for 24 hours before planting. Space plants 6 to 8 inches apart (or thin seedlings to this distance).
