Now a book to help readers grow roses

Simply Roses (Universe Publishing, 2004; $20), by Karen Dardick (Garden Compass Magazine, San Diego Union-Tribune), whose enthusiasm convinces readers that growing roses is easy.

One practical suggestion we particularly liked: Select climbing roses that bloom in big clusters for a ready supply of instant bouquets. Her choices: 'Berries 'n Cream', 'Fourth of July', and 'Sally Holmes'.
