Create a miniature reflecting pond

A shallow serving dish (about 12 by 16 in.) becomes a reflecting pool when you add a camellia clipping with a bamboo stake to hold it upright.

Sunset's Bud Stuckey made the stake from a 16-inch-long, 2-inch-diameter piece of bamboo, which he sliced in thirds with a table saw; the stake is the center cut.
