Make this echinacea salve to heal minor scrapes and stings
How to Make an All-Natural Skin Salve

Simple, effective, and useful medicines, echinacea salves can soothe minor sores, wounds, insect bites, and stings—perfect for the home gardener. To create this recipe, you’ll need to have already created an essential oil using echinacea flowers.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce beeswax
  • 1 cup echinacea-infused essential oil

MAKES ABOUT 1 CUP

Instructions

Place the beeswax in a medium, nonreactive saucepan and pour in the infused oil. Gently warm the mixture over low heat until the beeswax melts. Stir the mixture, and when the beeswax and oil are thoroughly combined, pour the mixture into jars and seal with a lid.

Place the jars in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes to determine their solidification. The consistency of salves can easily be adjusted depending on your preferences. Once cooled, you can make adjustments by adding more oil (for a softer salve) or more beeswax (for a firmer salve) and warming the mixture again. The salve should last up to 6 months when stored in a cool, dark place.
