New look for wreaths

Take holiday greenery beyond the basics with a wreath in an unexpected shape. We love this angular Christmas-tree outline ― and used it to decorate the front door of Sunset's headquarters in Menlo Park, California, last year.

Swags, squares, ovals, and stars are fresh alternatives to circles; keep an eye out for creative wreaths at garden centers and florists. Motivated crafters can find wire wreath frames online or at floral supply stores and whip up their own balsam-scented door decor.
